Inernet Marketing Case Study

Toll Free Forwarding is a service provider for (guess what!…) Toll Free Forwarding…

The reason they got to be the subject of this post is their sign up process. When Aviram told me I should look at their website I didn’t know that I will get to the best site I’ve seen in a very long time.

Excellent work. Except of the fact that they insist on entering a “province” as part of the address, and I’m a no-province-kinda-guy, everything is exactly in the right place. On top of the perfect landing page and signup forms, they also offer $10 credit for free trial which is pretty smart. Their Advanced Call Routing seetings are too complicated if you ask me, (I have some ideas how to make it simple) but this is done when you are already a customer, so although it is important, it is less critical.

If you need a good case study for Internet Marketing signup process, go to their site and do exactly what they did. It worked for me.

fonts that make users trust you

Monday, May 12th, 2008

I found a really nice research article made by the Psychology Department of Wichita Sate University, about The Effect of Website Typeface Appropriateness on the Perception of a Company’s Ethos orĀ  in other words - which font should you use to make your users trust you more.

It makes perfect sense that there are fonts that are more trustworthy, but I never thought about a research proving it. But then again, this is the reason that I’m blogging about it, and they have proved it…

Get Your Visitors Contact You

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Here is a nice post from stoney-degeyter discussing Ways to Get Your Visitors To Contact You From Your Contact Us Page

I would have a also add one bullet - put a small contact us form on every important page.

This is the most important thing on your site, don’t hide it.

Top Ten Mistakes of Shopping Cart Design

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Wichita State University Software Usability Research Lab published an excellent article about the Top Ten Mistakes of Shopping Cart Design

The article is based on a survey of 500 top E-Commerce website.

Here are the top mistakes that we chose:

1. Calling a Shopping Cart anything but a Shopping Cart.
2. Requiring a user to REGISTER before adding an item to the cart.
3. Requiring a user to enter shipping, billing, and all personal information before knowing the final costs including shipping and tax.

This article is pure gold.
